Alternative to Crystal Report Server is Universal Report Server from VersaReports. Universal Report Server (URS) for the Microsoft .NET platform hosts reports created with nearly ANY Microsoft .NET reporting packages, including SAP Crystal Reports, DevExpress XtraReports, Telerik Reporting, Grape City/Data Dynamics ActiveReports, and Report Definition Language (RDL) files like those used in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. URS is priced at $4,995 per server for systems with no more than two CPUs (with an unlimited number of cores) and $14,995 for big servers with more than two CPUs. A 30-day trial of Universal Report Server can be downloaded from VersaReports’ website, and an online demo of the software can be viewed at http://www.versareports.com/demo.
